20 Filipinos bound for Africa via Dubai flight offloaded at NAIA

The Bureau of Immigration has barred 20 Filipinos from leaving the country after immigration officers found their travel documents “spurious”.

They were set to go to Africa via Dubai flight, said BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.

The authorities had second thoughts in letting them leave the Philippines because of their dubious reasons, said Port Operations Division Chief Marc Red Mariñas.

After further questioning, it was discovered that from Dubai, they intend to go to Sao Tome, Africa to work in a construction company without proper documentation, reported GMA News.

BI Spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval said the passengers brought to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) for investigation.
