Expat convicted of attempted rape of Filipina bank worker

The Dubai Criminal Court convicted a policeman of attempted rape of a Filipina bank worker who offered her to sign up for a credit card.

The policeman of foreign nationality will be deported back to his home country after serving one year jail term, reported The National.

According to the report, the incident happened May 8 last year inside his car when he drove the Filipina to the bank branch in Al Muraqqabat area.

Instead of getting off at the branch, he took a detour leaving the bank behind.

He parked his car, locked the car doors and windows, jumped at the back seat where the 26-year-old victim was sitting at that time, and then took advantage of her.

He demanded sex in exchange for signing up, and when the Filipina refused he forced to strip her naked.

In court, the woman said: “He wanted to make sure that I worked there for real and wasn’t scamming him.”

When he failed to do it his way, he drove towards a petrol station where he told her to go the washroom  to fix herself.

Terrified, the Filipina locked herself up in the washroom and called his manager to rescue her.

After the incident, they headed to the police station to report the sexual assault.
