Man gets jail term, deportation for groping Filipina

The Dubai Court of First Instance has handed down its decision on the case of an Indian manager who groped a Filipina life coach in Al Karama.

Gulf News reported that the court gave the 45-year old manager three-months jail term, despite his not-guilty plea.

He will also be deported back his home country after serving the jail term.

The incident happened while the victim was walking with her friend outside a typing center in Al Karama at around 1:40 pm.

The man suddenly showed up in front of them and then groped her.

The Filipina is claiming Dh21,000 in her lawsuit as temporary compensation for emotional and moral damages. The court referred it to the Dubai Civil Court.

The ruling is subject to appeal within 15 days.
