List of public holidays this year in UAE released

The Abu Dhabi government has released the list of public holidays in the UAE.

According to the announcement, Islamic occasions, such as the beginning and end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, depend on moon sightings. Thus, dates listed are only expected and tentative dates.

Earlier, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, proclaimed November 30 as Martyr’s Day to be held to remember the heroic deeds of the nation’s martyrs.

Meanwhile, the UAE National Day is celebrated to commemorate the founding of the union of the United Arab Emirates.

“Federal ministries, public departments and institutions are closed during the public holidays listed below,” the announcement read.
