Here are work, school schedules in UAE during Ramadan

Earlier, the country’s Moon-Sighting Committee announced that the Ramadan season in the UAE will begin tomorrow, May 17.

In line with the celebration of Ramadan, several government agencies have released the schedules for work and school during the holy season.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced that work hours for the private sector will be reduced by two hours from normal company hours while work for federal government and ministry employees in the public sector will begin at 9 in the morning and end at 2 in the afternoon.

School schedules will also be shortened during the holy month.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education announced last week the schedules of public schools in Dubai and Northern Emirates during Ramadan.

Kindergarten schools will operate from 8:30 AM to 12 PM. Classes for primary schools for boys will start at 8 AM and end at 12:35 PM and class schedules in primary schools for girls will begin at 9 AM and end at 1:35 PM.

Meanwhile, classes in secondary schools for boys will be at 8 AM until 1:20 PM while girls’ classes will begin at 9 AM and end at 2:20 PM.

For private schools, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority announced that schools will start between 8 AM and 8.30 AM and end between 1 PM and 1.30 PM, with shorter breaks. Schools are advised that school hours should not exceed 5 hours.
