The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police reminded motorists to avoid overspeeding and beating the red light.
Abu Dhabi Police said 11,434 vehicles breached speed limits while 2,375 motorists were caught for beating the red light during the first quarter of the year.
Authorities reminded motorists who will these traffic rules will receive a fine of Dh1000 and incur 12 black points. Their vehicle will also be confiscated for 30 days.
A system monitoring speed limits is in place, warned the authorities. The system takes a photograph of traffic violators.
