3 Asian maids in UAE nabbed for practicing sorcery, stealing Dh320,000 jewellery

Three Asian maids were arrested by the police for allegedly practicing black magic and stealing jewelries.

According to a report by Khaleej Times, an Emirati woman called the police for help when she found out that her three maids, two Filipinos and one Indian, were allegedly practicing sorcery. Authorities immediately arrested the three household helpers.

The police were able to retrieve witchcraft materials, gold jewelry worth Dh320,000 (approximately P4.5-M) and alcohol from their possession.

The three maids will face charges for practicing black magic, theft of gold, and possession of alcohol before the Sharjah Criminal Court.

Court documents stated that the Emirati woman feared for her life when she learned that her maids were practicing black magic, adding that she felt they would inflict harm to her and her family.

During the court hearing, the Emirati woman testified that she called the police when she found materials used for black magic in their room. She said she had never suspected them of any other offense, and was shocked when authorities found stolen jewelries.

The three accused pleaded not guilty in court, with one of them saying that the gold earrings that were recovered belongs to her.
