Asian salesman in Dubai jailed in forgery case

A 34-year-old Filipino working as a salesman at a telco company has been jailed for three months due to forgery.

According to an article on Gulf News, the Filipino forged documents for the same postpaid data bundle to get a Dh25 monthly incentive per sold package promised to high-performing staff.

He used personal papers of his compatriots and produced questionable bills for the same postpaid number.

The forged documents were discovered after the internal audit department found out that a single reference number had been used and activated several times, the telco official said.

After the investigation, the Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the Filipino to three months of jail time.

Presiding judge Urfan Omar said that after serving his three months in jail, the Filipino will be deported.

The court also charged another 32-year-old Filipina sales supervisor for the same offense. However, the Filipina was cleared during the primary ruling due to lack of corroborated evidence.
