Latest update on Waterfront Manila Pavilion fire

The local authorities in the Philippines are still currently investigating the cause of fire that gutted the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel & Casino along United Nations Ave., Manila, Sunday, at around 9:30 am.

Initial reports as of 8:30 p.m. (Sunday) confirmed three people dead out of the 20 hotels guests trapped inside the building, as per the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Twenty three people sustained injuries.

Earlier, there were four declared casulties in the fire accident, but the authorities later revised the death toll to three, saying one of the victims was revived.

Arson investigators of the Manila Fire District are still investigating the origin of the fire, but they believe that the fire started from the ground floor of the casino.

The fire reached Task Force Bravo.
