His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, announced that there will be no raise in government fees in the next three years.
The government decided to not raise its fees after the implementation of the 5% value added tax (VAT) on the first day of 2018.
Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, reiterated the announcement on Sunday via Twitter.
The Dubai Crown Prince said: “Following the directives of [HH Sheikh Mohammed], we have issued an order to freeze Dubai Government public services fees for the next three years.”

The Crown Prince said that the decision was made in order to support the stability of the citizens.
“The move, which aims to support the social stability of citizens, will have a positive ripple effect on all segments of society,” he said.
