Pinay claims employer in Kuwait sells her to other household

Overseas FIlipino worker (OFW) in Kuwait has expressed her interest to go back to the Philippines after reporting sexual and physical abuse against her employers.

OFW Marjorie Lizada told her relatives that the abuse started a few months into her employment.

According to Lizada’s relatives, the OFW had told them that her employer’s son sexually abuses her.

“Sabi niya, ”Te, gusto ko nang umalis kasi hinipuan ako ng anak pa ng amo ko’,” said Juliet Magtanan, Marjorie’s cousin.

The Filipina maid said she cannot leave since her employers threatened to kill her if she decides to escape.

“Sinasabihan ko siya na takas na siya ‘pag may chance siya. Sabi niya, ‘Wala talaga, ‘te, dahil lahat ng pinto dito naka-lock,” her cousin said.

Lizada’s employer, accordong to her cousin, sold her to other families twice and that her employers forcibly removed her toenails.

Lizada’s relatives claimed that they have tried to appeal to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in the past but to no avail.

OWWA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac said they are already coordinating with their welfare officer in Kuwait to rescue Marjorie.
