DOLE creates central action hub for overseas Filipinos

An Administrative Order No. 73 that will establish the proposed overseas Filipino workers (OFW) Command Center has been released by The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently.

According to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the 24/7 OFW Command Center will serve as the central referral and action hub for Filipino workers all over the world seeking for help may it be in employment, welfare cases, repatriation, and others.

OFWs who lack time in reporting their cases directly to the hub can send their concerns via social media or e-mail, and their concerns will be addressed immediately.

“Ang pagtatatag ng Command Center ay tiyak na makapagbibigay ng tulong sa lahat ng mga hinaing ng mga OFW, higit lalo sa mga insidente kung saan nangangailangan ng agarang tulong at aksyon,” Bello said.

Implementing guidelines, which will be created through the cooperation of Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB), will be made thirty days after the order has been signed.

The Command Center is temporarily situated at the ILAB Office, DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila.
