UAE warns consumers of alleged Salmonella-tainted food product for infants

The Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday, February 17, 2018 alerted the consumers across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) not to purchase tinned baby milk formula manufactured by the French company Lactalis International as those may be contaminated with salmonella agona that can cause fever and
diarrhea.

According to The National, Lactalis has voluntarily withdrawn the products namely Milumel, Celia, and Picot Pepti-Junior from all retail stores due to possible contamination.

The ministry has already marked Lactalis International in the list of harmful products on its website.

The ministry also warned the public against unlicensed addiction remedies, cosmetics with high Mercury concentration, herbal formula for weight loss, and food supplements that trigger high blood pressure, and harmful skin whitening products.

They’ve listed 12 products identified as illegal and unsafe for public consumption. These are the companies and its products: Opiate Freedom Center (Opiate Freedom 5-Pack); U4Life LLC (Mitadone); CalmSupport LLC (CalmSupport); TaperAid (TaperAid and TaperAid Complete); Medicus Holistic Alternatives LLC (Natracet); NutraCore Health Products LLC

(Opiate Detox Pro); Healthy Healing LLC (Withdrawal Support); Soothedrawal Inc.(Soothedrawal); Choice Detox Center Inc. (Nofeel); GUNA Inc. (GUNA-ADDICT 1); and King Bio Inc. (AddictaPlex).

Three Chinese products used for bleaching the skin were also uncovered to contain a high concentration of Mercury and were not registered with the ministry.These are Yalan Cream, Slimming Body Capsule Plus and Hao Meng Specific Wipe off Fleck Cream.

Another Thailand-produced herbal drink Tarty Slim Plus Capsules were said to cause high-blood pressure and contains undeclared pharmaceutical substances.

Flawless Beauty’s skin whitening products were also assumed to have dangerous components and were cautioned by the ministry.
