Discount on traffic fines in Abu Dhabi nears end

by | News

Motorists with traffic violations have two weeks to avail of the 50 percent discount on fines, the Abu Dhabi Police reminded.

Brigadier Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, director of traffic and patrols directorate, encouraged erring motorists to clear their dues before March 1. Payments can be processed through the police’s electronic systems and regular platforms.

“If you don’t pay before March 1, the fines will need to be paid in full,” Al Khaili stated in a Khaleej Times report.

The official also advised the drivers to keep the roads safe by strictly following traffic laws.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, directed the Ministry of Interior to cut traffic fines by 50 percent in accordance with the Year of Giving, and to inspire residents to practice road safety.
