Sharjah fire incidents drop by 7% in 2017

From 828 cases of fire incidents in 2015, and 746 in 2016, the reported fire incidents in Sharjah dropped to 694 or about 7% in 2017.

According to Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, director-general of Sharjah Civil Defence, this positive result was attained because of the efforts and execution of H.H. Lt-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to lessen fire cases in the emirate.

H.H. Sheikh Saif has directed to take all necessary measures to ensure quick response on reported emergencies especially fire incidents, reported Gulf News.

Aside from fortunately dropping the rate of fire incidents, the civil defense was also able to beat its own record for rapidly responding to fire incident emergencies.

Meanwhile, authorities remind the public, especially the owners of large establishments, to have adequate fire safety measures to prevent hazardous fire incidents.
