Palawan to Malaysia ferry voyage to kick off in Feb

The first roll-on roll-off (ro-ro) ferry service between Malaysia and Philippines is set to be launched this coming February, as Fast Cat Ferry rolls out its trial run from Palawan to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

The estimated travel time from Buliluyan Port in Bataraza, Palawan, to Kudat Port, Malaysia is six hours.

The Fast Cat Ferry has the capacity to load 200 passengers and can carry more than 30 vehicles.

Bureaus of customs, immigration, and quarantine and security centers will be available in both ends for the passengers.

According to Palawan Provincial Information Officer Gil Acosta, the ferry transport is in line with the local government’s infrastructure projects.

This project will have a great impact on the trading industry as well as on the tourism sector of the province.
