OFW’s husband kills sister-in-law over remittance

A sister of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Malaysia was found dead in her bedroom, January 4, in Zamboanga City.

Zamboanga City police held the OFW’s husband as the main suspect.

According to local reports, he had a rift with his OFW wife before the incident happened. His wife decided to entrust her remittances to the victim, as she believed that his husband was addicted to drugs.

On January 3, the suspect sent his OFW wife a couple of alarming text messages threatening to assault her younger sister.

The next day, the OFW’s sister was found dead in her bedroom.

Initial investigation said the suspect used a 9mm gun to shoot the victim.

The pistol used in the crime was also found in suspect’s possession.
