Pinoys comprise a sizeable ‘feeder market’ for Abu Dhabi’s business hotels

ABU DHABI: The UAE capital city’s vibrant economy has been witnessing a thriving business hotel sector where executives gather for conferences and leisure.

Ranking fourth are Filipinos, said Eileen Guerra, director of sales City Seasons Al Hamra.

“Our target market consists of the commercial segment or the what is called as ‘corporate accounts’ that can be an individual or a group traveler that conducts businesses,” she said, adding that average length of the guests’ stay range from three days to two weeks.

“Commercial travelers do not share rooms and majority of them are on single occupancy. It’s constant throughout the year. Corporate accounts are generated from local UAE and international companies for their employees as well as training groups,” Guerra said.

The hotel also enjoys leisure segment travelers primarily generated by attractions such as shopping malls, museums , outlet malls, attraction of amusement parks and exhibitions.

“Our top feeder markets are people from GCC, China, Indian nationals, Filipinos, UK nationals and Americans,” Guerra said.
