3 dead as speedy car crushes under truck in Ilocos Sur

Three fatalities were reported in an accident involving a car that hit and was crushed by a delivery truck in Barangay Guimod in Bantay, Ilocos Sur yesterday morning, December 16.

Authorities found out in the investigation that the victims just came from a Christmas party in San Ildefonso and were under the influence of alcohol.

The driver of the car, identified as former barangay captain Antonio Pamo, along with his nephew Jaymark Pamo,19, and security guard Rudolph Sistosa died on the spot.

One of their company inside the car, Wilson Tapiceria, sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition.

Police said the car collided with the truck that was then on its way from the north side of a warehouse in National Highway.

The car was wrecked, making its passengers and drivers almost impossible to survive.

The delivery truck’s driver, Marlon Nieto, is now under the custody of the authorities.

In a statement, he said that the victims’ car was running on a really speedy charge.

He and his porter claimed as well that they tried to warn the car’s driver by flashing a spotlight but it was already too late.

The brother of the car’s driver and father of Jaymark expressed his grief with the sudden death of his family members.

He said it is harder to accept that such tragedy would happen just days before Christmas.
