6 cops accused of raping female detainee

Six Olongapo cops have been placed under restrictive custody after they were accused of raping and maltreating a female detainee last June.

The Pampanga Police Station 5 officials allegedly released the drug suspect from detention, then asked her to throw out the trash and proceed to the office, where she was forced to strip naked and dance, Rappler and Inquirer.net reported.

The woman initially refused, but after being intimidated, danced with her clothes on. While she was dancing, five of the six policemen: Police Officer (PO) 3 Diosdado Alterado, PO3 Stevie Rivera, PO2 Nelson Abalos, PO1 Ed Mesias, and PO1 Gaylord Calara left her with PO1 Raymond Diaz, who then forced himself on her.

When the five returned, they allegedly asked her: Sino ba ang gusto mong maka-sex bago ka maibiyahe bukas (Who among us do you want to have sex with before your transfer tomorrow)?” Rappler reported.

According to the complaint, a fellow male inmate then entered the office, and the two detainees were forced to have sex while the six watched.

The 30-year-old complainant waited until she was transferred to the city jail to report the incident, Rappler and Inquirer.net quoted Olongapo City Police Director Melchore Cabalza III.

Inquirer.net’s sources said the suspects deny the claims. Cabalza personally filed criminal and administrative charges on Oct. 4.
