‘Saudi hero’ Sultan bin Huzaim al Rajbani, who rescued about 50 people from a fire incident in a petrol station, lost his family to a house fire a couple of days after his heroic act.
On Oct. 15, less than a week after he was hailed a hero, his mother, two siblings and stepfather suffocated when their house caught fire as they slept. A short circuit in their living room at around 7:21am caused the fire, Gulf News reported.
Prince Faisal bin Bandar, the governor of Riyadh last week honored and welcomed to his palace the 20-year-old al Rajbani after he risked his life to stop a fuel station explosion.
As his car was slightly damaged, Al Rajbani was offered a new car to replace the 4×4 he used to shove the burning car away from the petrol station, Gulf News said.
