The Court of First Instance sentenced a 21-year-old expat with six months of imprisonment for secretly filming another man while he was taking a shower and blackmailed the victim into engaging in a sexual relationship with him, Khaleej Times reported.
The Court found the Pakistani man guilty of violating another man’s privacy and for using the social media and technology in forcing the victim to have sex with him.
The 21-year-old victim is a co-worker of the defendant.
“The message contained a clip of me taking a shower in the bathroom inside my labour accommodation. The sender threatened he would pass it on unless I had a sexual relation with him,” Khaleej Times quoted the complainant as saying.
The defendant admitted to the crime of blackmailing the victim.
The phone used by the defendant was confiscated and presented as evidence at the public prosecution.
The court also ordered the defendant to be deported after serving his sentence.
