AFP chief slams UN report accusing them of killing of 11 children

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief-of-Staff Gen. Eduardo Ano dared the United Nations and the activists to prove their claim that the AFP is responsible for the killing of 11 children last year.

“The AFP welcomes any complaint. Just provide us the data, circumstance, and we will conduct the investigation.

“We do not condone any extra-judicial killing or violation of human rights. From top up to the lowest unit of our troops in the field, we have designated human rights officers,” Philippine News Agency (PNA) quoted Ano.

Last week, Oct. 5, the United Nations Security Council released a report that claimed the AFP was involved in the 11 of the 38 cases of killings and maiming recorded in the Philippines last year.

However, Ano insisted that the reports against the military were unverified and filed by the leftists, hence the need for exact data and circumstances, PNA reported.

“We have a Commission on Human Rights [to] welcome any filing of cases against our personnel,” PNA quoted Ano.
