DFA-Cebu plans to add more passport appointment slots

The Department of Affairs (DFA) announced that they will add more appointment slots in their Cebu office for Cebuanos who want to get their passport this year.

“Although it is not yet final, but like what we did for the month of September where we added slots, same goes to the months of October and November,” Cebu Inquirer has quoted Wendel Canque, executive assistant of the DFA in Central Visayas, as saying.

Currently, the appointment slots of DFA-Cebu for the months of September to November are already full.

For Cebu-based people who want to apply for passport, they have to get their appointments in adjoining areas like Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental or Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

If the plan will push through, Canque said than an additional of 90 slots per day will be offered in DFA-Cebu for the months of October and November.

The office of DFA in Cebu accommodates at least 400 to 600 applicants per day who booked their appointments months before, excluding allowed walk-in applicants like senior citizens, solo parents, children below seven years old, and overseas Filipino workers (OFW).

Canque reminded the public to attend to their appointments because missing their schedule could only apply for a new appointment after 30 days.
