A three-year-old girl died after she fell from the balcony of her sixth floor apartment in Fujairah on September 23.
According to investigations, the girl was left unattended in her apartment, walked to the window and climbed on a chair in order to cross into the balcony.
The girl then climbed on the balcony railing and that is when she lost her balance and fell down and crashed on a car parked near the building.
“The girl sustained critical injuries and fractures all over her body, and bled excessively,” Khaleej Times quoted Brigadier Humaid Mohammed Al Yamahi, director general of the police operations in Fujairah.
Brigadier Mohammed Al Yamahi also said the central operations room of the Fujairah police was alerted upon learning the incident.
Paramedics, rescue teams, and a national ambulance rushed to retrieve the girl but she unfortunately died from her fall.
In order to prevent this incident to happen with other families, police urged residents living in high-rise buildings to remove furnitures from near windows and always keep their windows locked.
