President Rodrigo Duterte is raising the punishment for his children if they are ever proven to be guilty of being involved in illegal activities.
The president reiterated his full commitment to addressing the country’s problems on illegal drugs, corruption, and crime, revealing his order to kill his own son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, if the latter is caught involved in the illegal drug trade.
“My orders are to kill you if you are caught and I will protect the police who will kill you kung totoo iyan,” he said in a speech during the awarding of outstanding government workers in Malacañang on Wednesday, September 20.
“So that may masabi ako sa tao: Ayan, daldal kayo. Ayan, patay na ang katawan ng anak ko,” Inquirer quoted the president as saying.
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV previously linked the younger Duterte to the Chinese triad, a transnational organized crime syndicate, because of an alleged dragon tattoo on the vice mayor’s back.
The president previously said that he would resign if any of his children are found to be doing illegal activities.”
Vice Mayor Duterte and his brother-in law, Atty. Manases Carpio, husband of Davao Mayor Sara Duterte, were linked to a certain Davao Group involved in illegal drugs smuggling at the Bureau of Customs.
