The Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department at Sharjah Police will renew driving licenses through an online system only starting October 1.
Motorists in Sharjah will no longer have to go to the police for license renewal as it could be done through online or the Ministry of Interior mobile app.
They can download the ministry’s app on iOS and Android platforms. They can also use this app to report stolen, missing or damaged driving licenses, and request for a replacement.
“These online services aim to save time and effort for customers, in line with the priorities of the UAE government in activating and implementing smart services,” Colonel Ali Bualzod, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Department said.
Once the online transaction is done, driver’s license will be sent online and delivered within 48 hours of receiving the request, which is valid until the actual license is delivered to the applicant.
