200 cops face dismissal over allegedly cheating in entrance test

In an attempt to “internally cleanse” the police organization of errant police officers, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) is looking to dismiss about 200 policemen in their ranks due to alleged cheating in entrance examination.

Napolcom Vice Chairman Atty. Rogelio Casurao said the commission has issued a circular order, voiding the eligibility of these cops to enter the police force.

“More than 200 itong na-discover namin na may statistical improbability na tinatawag na kung bakit pare-pareho ang maling answers, pare-pareho ang correct answers,” Casurao said in an interview with DZMM on Sunday, September 17.

Casurao added that they are also verifying reports saying that some personnel, who have served the police organization for years, have submitted fake documents when they entered the PNP.

“Ngayon ang dami naming nahuhuli na after serving the PNP for 10 years, 15 years, nadidiskubre namin na after all, lahat pala ng papeles na isinubmit ay mga peke,” he said.

The Napolcom said only 2,600 out of the 14,439 examinees passed the PNP entrance exam conducted nationwide.

Last Friday, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde ordered the relief and retraining of the whole Caloocan City police force.
