‘Kulot’ laid to rest, but questions about DNA remain unburied

Reynaldo “Kulot” De Guzman, the 14-year-old boy who was last seen with Dubai-based OFW’s slain son Carl Angelo Arnaiz, was finally laid to rest on September 13.

The funeral services for Kulot started with a Mass at the San Antonio Abad Parish dedicated not only to the boy but also to all the victims of the violence.

After the mass, his remains was laid to rest in an apartment-style tomb at the Pasig Public Cemetery.

His family, with his parents wearing a bulletproof vest for their safety, stayed for 20 minutes before armed guards guided them to a safe house.

The family of Kulot was placed under the Witness Protection Program because of a possible security threat against them, according to the program’s intelligence chief Ernie Talabucon.

On the other hand, the Philippine National Police (PNP) still considers Kulot missing after the DNA results indicated that the body found in Gapan, Nueva Ecija with 30 stab wounds is not him.

However, his parents insisted that it’s the body of Kulot.

De Guzman was last seen on August 17 to buy midnight snacks with Arnaiz. His body was found a week after the body of Arnaiz was found in a morgue in Caloocan.
