Over 1000 bogus job offers busted in UAE

More than a thousand of job offers this year were busted to protect Indian expats who are seeking employment in the UAE, reported The Indian Workers’ Resource Center (IWRC) of the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi.

IWRC, the agency responsible to verify the authenticity of offers to Indian jobseekers, said the centre receives around 10 enquiries everyday to confirm the quality of such offers.

“Every day we get emails from people in India saying they have received job offers from the UAE, including even big companies. We try to reply to the queries the same day. We check the website of the UAE government and the websites of the companies offering jobs. We take help from the embassy and consulate also,” said IWRC Manager Anish Chaudhary.

Chaudhary continued to express disappointment, saying “It is not just illiterate or less educated people who are duped, but also university professors who’d get fake job offers.”

The embassy advises Indians to be more vigilant with job offers and encourages migration to the UAE only through registered recruitment agents.
