‘The Oscars of the Pinoy community’

It would have easily been called the night of bow ties, tuxes, gowns and stilettos.

People started coming in at around past five for what would be a bottomless, ritual celebration of such grandiosity that to call it a gala would be a gross, ridiculous understatement.

Red carpet. Photo wall. Smiling faces. Camera flashes.

The air hanged thick with excitement – delirium, even, at some point – as the scent of Gucci, Hermés, Dior, Dolce…Armani stir up a cocktail of sort.

Signatures were all over the place: Pradas. Ferragamos.  Chanels. Swarovskis. Hublots. Tissots. Perregauxes.

All the glitz and glamor. And that’s just the surface.

On its third edition, The Filipino Times Awards has taken on deeper relevance as past titleholders refused to plateau on their careers and commitments, taking their avowed existential raison d’etre instead to the next level, giving it new meanings and dimensions: A registered nurse putting together sports even to benefit cancer-stricken children in the Philippines; an award-winning film maker organizing off-the-grid, Ubuntu-style communities… the list goes on.

On its third edition as well, The Filipino Times Awards has discovered more hidden gems – high calibre Filipinos excelling in their chosen fields and worthy of recognition.

Indeed, The Filipino Times Awards, dubbed, “The Oscars of the Pinoy Community” where everyone comes to shine, has become an inspirational benchmark to be motivated, recognized and party in your Fendi.
