Nol Cards’ newest feature is perfect for shoppers in Dubai.
The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) has announced that Nol cards can be used to make payments for purchases at selected retail outlets in Dubai.
Through a local payment platform operated by Mercury Payments Services LLC of the Network International, Nol cardholders are now able able to use the transit system card to make quick purchases in more than 1,000 Dubai retail stores.
“The network of retailers accepting nol cards is projected to exceed 5,000 by the end of this year,” Khaleej Times quoted Abdulla Al Madani, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector as saying.
The added feature to Nol cards is in line with Dubai’s vision of being the world’s smartest city in three years.
“This initiative is an important step towards realising RTA’s objectives making Nol card users in Dubai happy by utilising the card for various services. This initiative is in line with the Smart City initiative, which will make Dubai one of the world’s smartest cities by providing the latest technologies,” Al Madani added.
