Palawan named world’s best island anew

Powdery white sand beaches, pristine turquoise waters, tropical fishes, and coral reefs – this beautiful island has it all.

It is no wonder how Palawan nabbed the top spot as the best island in the world for the second year in a row.

Readers of Travel + Leisure rated their travel experiences around the globe according to the these categories: activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value.

Palawan got the highest score of 93.15, the travel magazine announced on its website on Tuesday.

“For the second year in a row, the Philippine paradise Palawan wins first place as the best island in the world, thanks to its hidden lagoons, teeming ocean life, and rustic-luxe resorts,” Travel + Leisure announced.

Another Philippine island on the list is Boracay, landing at number 3 with the score of 89.67.

This is the third time Palawan won the magazine’s annual best island of the world survey, its first win was back in 2013.

This year, it bested Santorini, Greece (rank 5), Maui, Hawaii (rank 6), and Bali, Indonesia (rank 10). See the top 10 best islands here:
