Among worries overseas working moms have are wayward children.
“May kalimitang sinasabi na when mom is away, the family goes astray, at kasama dyan ang OFW families. Depende sa mga anak kung hindi nila pinapahalagahan ang magulang na nagsasakripisyo para mabigyan sila ng mabuting buhay,” said Labor Attaché Felicitas Bay.
Social Welfare Attache Isabel Sy Nillas said wayward kids of overseas Filipinos can be referred to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for care.
“They can be referred for counselling or other support services that may be needed. This is a case to case basis,” she said.
