Mother’s Day gift to abandoned kids

An enterprising money transfer company has come up with a way to make Mother’s Day more interesting: treat abandoned children in the Philippines.

“The Philippines has a growing number of abandoned children,” said Ashwin Gedam, VP for Global Marketing at Xpress Money.

“We believe the formative years are very crucial years that determine a child’s future. As a company, Xpress Money believes in uplifting and giving back to the communities we operate in. Our CSR Platform has always reached out to communities and helped in tackling issues concerning them,” he added.

To this end, he said, Xpress Money has through the “Mother’s Day for Kids without Mothers” campaign, aim to completely transform the lives of 11 abandoned children in Manila by the providing them food, shelter and good quality education in the long term. “Basically, we will provide them with all that is required to ensure that they have a good future, which a mother would strive to give her children,” Gedam said.

The company will use 10% of the total revenue from for all money transfers to the Philippines from April 21 and May 14 will be contributed toward this cause.
