Alleged pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles has been receiving death threats since she expressed willingness to be state witness in the billion-peso scam, his lawyer Atty. Stephen David said.
In a letter obtained by the media, David presented this argument to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre to allow Napoles be transferred to the National Bureau Investigation (NBI) detention center.
The death threats, he said, have been coming from unknown persons even when Napoles is behind the bars at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.
Napoles, however, believes the threats come from politicians who wants to shut her mouth from dropping more names.
“She was aware that the threats against her became serious and strong when the news circulated that she may be used as a government/state witness against some high-ranking government officials,” David argued.
“We believe that your office, through the NBI can give Mrs. Napoles her much needed protection,” he added.
