A Shrajah apartment along Al Wahda street was left with nothing after a fire broke out Tuesday evening, reports said.
“The fire gutted the content of the flat,” the Khaleej Times said.
The Gulf News also said no injuries were reported among the residents in the five-story residential building. It also said the street along which the building is located has been closed.
“Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, said firefighters from headquarters, Samnan and Al Mina stations joined in the effort,” the report said.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
The Khaleej Times reported that the blaze was “massive” but responders “managed to contain” it, preventing it from further spreading into other flats.
“Dozens of families were evacuated from the five-story building,” the Gulf News also said.
The Gulf News reported that the fire broke out at 9:37 pm.
