Emirates Airlines throws major shades at United Airlines

Emirates Airlines has taken the opportunity to troll United Airlines about the incident where a man was violently dragged off a plane.

The episode occurred as an apparent result of the airlines’ practice of overbooking.

Emirates threw a major shade at the statement made last month by United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz. In their new video commercial released on Twitter, Emirates quoted the CEO as saying, “Those (Gulf) airlines aren’t airlines.”

In reply to this previous statement of Munoz, the Dubai-based airlines emphasized their current standing on TripAdvisor as the best airline.

Early this week, Emirates was recognised as the Best Airline in the World in the inaugural TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards for Airlines. The airline also won 4 other awards including Best Major Airline – Middle East & Africa, Best Economy Class, Best First Class and World’s Best Airlines – Top 10.

Dr. David Dao, 69-year-old Vietnamese-American physician, was left with a bloodied face when he was forcibly removed from United Express Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville, Kentucky.

The incident happened after the passengers were told that four of them would need to leave the flight to make room for United employees.
