Cyclone to hit PH on Black Saturday

PAGASA meteorologists are currently monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that may hit the country as a cyclone by Black Saturday evening, April 15.

The disturbance will be given the local name “Crising” should it become a cyclone.

It is expected to cross through Southern Luzon and Visayas, and exit from the country in the area of Mindoro by Monday morning.

The LPA posited some 1,415 km east of Mindanao. It is expected to enter the PAR by Thursday morning and intensify into a cyclone before the weekend.

In Luzon, up to moderate rain is expected in Ilocos and the Cordilleras on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Bicol can expect some rain on Black Saturday afternoon through to the evening, while southern and central Luzon can expect rain throughout Easter Sunday.

Metro Manila can expect humid weather throughout the rest of the week, but should brace for rain come Easter Sunday.

In the Visayas, fair weather is expected this Thursday but will give way to rainy weather on Friday and Saturday in the east. The incoming cyclone is forecast to bring rains to central and western Visayas through the day on Sunday.
