Abusing Dubai cop lands this woman in trouble

A woman café owner stands trial for verbally abusing a Yemeni policeman and threatening to deport him.

The 37-year-old businesswoman also tried to prevent him from carrying out his duty when he went to her café and ordered people there to produce IDs, according to the documents that local media got hold of.

The woman, however, denied in the Court of First Instance charges of verbal assault on a public officer and making threats. The stand-off took place on July 14, 2016, in Naif.

“Around 8.30pm, we were informed about a problem at a café in Freej Al Murar. A man, who was waiting for us near the café, told us an Ethiopian woman took his wallet and mobile phone. We went with him to the café and as we entered he pointed at a woman, saying she was the one who took his mobile phone.

“The defendant stepped in as I asked for that woman’s ID. The Ethiopian defendant stopped her from showing the ID and said she was the owner of the place. She would not show her own ID either. She told the others not to show theirs,” the 62-year-old Yemeni corporal was quoted to have said by KT.
