Photos of a huge carcass covered in white hair and 4.5-meter long went viral during the past few days after they turn up on one of the Dinagat Islands in the Philippines.
It is a 20-foot long body which appears to be covered with white hair. Some called it the horrifying ‘sea monster’ while others thought of it as the body of a creature that was probably killed in Earthquake, reported Khaleej Times.
The locals of the area who found it started speculations on social media and its images spread everywhere. People even compared it with the giant shitzu ‘The Neverending Story’, the report said.
However, researchers have come to know that the carcass is actually a whale which may have been hit by a ship, it added.
Regional officials issued a statement saying that the creature was a whale, but they have so far been unable to determine what type due to its advance decomposition, said the news portal.
