New hypermart opens with dedicated shelf for Pinoy products

A new hypermarket, with over 28,000 sq. ft. in area, reportedly the city’s biggest so far, recently opened on Khalid Bin Walid Street in Bur Dubai. Like most big retail establishments in the UAE, this one, named Fathima Hypermarket, has a dedicated shelf for Filipinos, owing to the sheer size of the Filipino community in Dubai, estimated at 500,000.

“Fathima Hypermarket recognizes Filipinos as one of its loyal customers so we have a dedicated shelf for Filipino products. Also, we will soon have prepared Filipino foods that will cater to Filipinos living and working in the area,” Fathima Group CEO, Sameer Sulaiman said.

Fathima Group started its business in Abu Dhabi back in 1968.
