UP makes it to World University Ranking

The University of the Philippines (UP) is the only Philippine University to make it to the list of Times Higher Education’s (THE) World University rankings for 2016-2017.

The London-based publication ranked UP number 801 in the overall rankings, and found itself outside the publication’s top 200 universities in Asia.

Meanwhile, in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings for Asia, UP retained its 70th spot from last year and was followed by the Ateneo de Manila University at 99, up 15 places from 114 in 2015. De La Salle University (DLSU) leapt 40 places up from the 183rd to 143rd spot, surpassing the University of Santo Tomas (UST), which dropped from 143rd to 157th despite being the only Philippine university to receive four QS stars.

The National University of Singapore remains as the top university in Asia in THE World University Rankings and is followed by the Nanyang Technological University, Peking University, University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University.
