Dubai taxi to accept overseas booking

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has partnered with international firm Cartrawler Company to be able to start receiving overseas booking.

The move is part of DTC’s plan for forging new partnerships to increase the productivity and expand the commercial reach of Dubai Taxi services worldwide. It will also add to the efforts of realizing RTA’s fourth strategic goal ‘Smooth Transport for All’ and developing a safe & sustainable transit network.

Prepaid bookings can now be made through the Cartrawler system, which is linked to Dubai’s Taxi’s own booking system, Gulf Business wrote.

Cartrawler serves 8 million people across 147 countries, according to Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of DTC.

“The main objective of the agreement is to realise mutual benefits through charting out a model of global partnership to enhance the transit means and raise the global profile of DTC in serving a broad spectrum of visitors heading to Dubai,” he said.

He said the project was one of several to support electronic and smart transportation at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
In recent months Dubai Taxi has introduced a number of new services, including a partnership for ladies limos with local ride booking app Careem.

It also plans to roll out free WiFi across its fleet.
