NAIA all-set for All Saints’ Day holidays

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is ready for the influx of passengers ahead of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day break.

Added measures will be in place to ensure safe, reliable, and convenient operations at the airport in the next few days.

Coordination has been made with airlines regarding the efficient processing of the passengers especially at the check-in counters. Additional airline personnel will be deployed as needed to accommodate the increase in travellers. Maximum deployment of security personnel will also be observed at the NAIA as Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) officials deployed more police officers to ensure the safety of the travellers.

Doctors, nurses and public affairs personnel are on standby to assist the passengers, MIAA general manager Ed Monreal told the Philippine Star.

Monreal said drug-sniffing dogs were also dispatched to search for shabu and other contraband in the luggage of the passengers.

He ordered the airport police to be vigilant against members of the Salisi gang and other unscrupulous individuals preying on passengers.

Roughly 50,000 passengers daily are expected to leave Manila for the holidays.
