MANILA: Former congressman and TV anchor Teodoro Locsin Jr. has become the new Philippine ambassador to the United Nations, Malacañang has announced.
Locsin accepted the post during his meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte at Bahay Pangarap in Malacañang, GMA News quoted Communications Secretary Martin Andanar as saying.
“Congressman Locsin said he accepted the position as UN Ambassador,” Andanar reportedly said.
Locsin was a representative of Makati City from 2001 to 2010, the GMA News report said.
