LOOK: Fake P1,000 used to scam burger joint in BGC Taguig

A man who posed as a customer was able to scam a restaurant in the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City using fake money.

It was around midnight last June 29 when the suspect identified only as “Patrick” called and ordered a meal worth P190.

“He handed the P 1,000, it was under a bunch of P1 coins total of P10. (Bill was P190, he asked for change for P 1,010),” wrote Burger Avenue on Facebook.

The suspect also requested for the food to be delivered outside by the street so he doesn’t need to park, to which the cashier agreed.

On the way back, the cashier noticed that the P1,000 bill was fake. But it was too late as the suspect had already fled in his car.

Burger Avenue owner Kim Pelayo said after she posted the incident on Facebook, several business owners also messaged her, saying the same thing happened to them.

“All fairly recent, some months ago. Same black car, others weren’t able to get the plate no. though,” she said.
