Petrol and diesel prices up anew

DUBAI: Petrol and diesel prices in the UAE will increase anew in July, albeit slightly compared to previous months.

The Ministry of Energy said motorists will see the prices of all grades of petrol up by 2 fils a liter while diesel users will bear an additional 8 fils a liter.

From Friday, Super 98 will retail at Dh1.88 a liter; Special 95 at Dh1.77 per liter; EPlus 91 Dh1.70 compared with Dh1.68 in June.

Diesel will retail at Dh1.85 from 1.77 in June, the Ministry announced on its website.

Oil prices jumped 3 percent or more on Tuesday with investors buying back into the market after a two-day rout triggered by Britain’s vote to leave the European Union and a threat of a looming union strike among Norwegian oil and gas workers this Saturday, according to news wires.
