NCAA: Letran narrowly hands San Beda first loss in Game 1 of season finals

The San Beda Red Lions failed to get a season sweep as the Letran Knights handed them their first loss in the NCAA Season 95 finals.

The Knights defeated the Red Lions, 65-64, in Game 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

This is the first time San Beda lost in the NCAA Men’s Basketball in the past 15 months.

The Red Lions managed to win 32 games in the men’s basketball in the annual sporting event.

Team Captain Jerrick Balanza led his team to victory.

Letran’s head coach Bonnie Tan said the win does not make them complacent.

“It’s just one game, but we’re happy for that win, because that’s 18-0,” Tan said.
