Freddie Roach prefers Danny Garcia as Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent

Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach said he prefers Danny Garcia than Mikey Garcia to be the Pacman’s next boxing match.

“Danny is much better. And besides, Mikey is coming off a loss. He lost his last fight,” Roach told sportswriters.

Roach was referring to Mikey’s last bout with Errol Spence Jr. at the IBF and World Boxing Council welterweight champion.

Spence was also included on the list of Pacquiao’s possible opponents. The boxer however figured in an accident in Dallas, Texas last month.

“I thought that (Spence) was a good fight for Manny but the accident happened,” Roach said.

He said Spence sustained a broken jaw and would definitely be out of the boxing scene for months.

Roach also revealed that Pacquiao should be ready to fight by March of next year.

The Filipino boxing icon is currently holding the title of the WBA welterweight crown. (TN)
